The newly renovated Greenwich Train Station OFFICIALLY OPENS – tomorrow 1/30. This marks a major milestone for the multi-phased Greenwich Crossing redevelopment. The modernized station features a new exterior façade, upgraded platform access, new pedestrian pathways, and a new staircase at Steamboat Road. Inside the station, renovations include full-glass entrance facades, a new wood-slatted ceiling, designer lighting, upgraded restrooms, and new flooring, glass railings, signage, and a new elevator.
Thanks to all involved! We’re deeply grateful for the community’s patience, the collaboration across our design and construction team, and the instrumental support of the Town of Greenwich and the Greenwich Building Department. This project reflects true craftsmanship and reinforces our long‑term commitment to Greenwich.
While the station is open, the new elevator inside is expected to be operational in March. The MTA elevators on the platforms remain open and accessible from both sides of the pedestrian bridge.
Renovations of the remaining storefronts are nearing completion, while construction of the restaurant structure and new landscaping will continue through early spring 2026. We will continue to share progress and post updates here and on Instagram @greenwich_crossing.

First and foremost, we thank everyone in the community for your incredible patience and support during our Greenwich Crossing transformation project. We’re excited to share that we’re in the final stretch – the train station is on track to reopen in January, barring any unforeseen construction or weather delays. We know the cold weather makes the temporary changes especially challenging, and we truly appreciate your continued understanding as we work as quickly as possible to reopen the station.
Citibank and Signature Cycles continue to remain open for business. Renovations of the remaining retail storefronts will be completed in the coming months, and the construction of the restaurant structure will continue through early spring 2026.
REMINDER to Access Train Platforms — The staircases at Arch Street, Steamboat Road, and Greenwich Plaza Road remain open, as well as the pedestrian bridge to access the platforms. Use the Pedestrian Bridge – with Stairs & Elevators – to cross over tracks and access the Track 3-Grand Central Bound and Track 4-Stamford/New Haven Bound Platforms.
For your safety, please allow extra time to reach your train or destination around the construction area during this final stretch.
We will continue to communicate and post all updates here and on Instagram @greenwich_crossing.
